Changelog

Sometimes you want to know what landed without opening anything. Readbase now works with Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight, so you can catch up on a newsletter or tidy your inbox by just asking.

• 🎙️ Summaries from Siri - Say "Summarize my latest Stratechery in Readbase" and Siri reads you the AI summary, no app needed.
• ✅ Mark a subscription as read - "Mark everything from TLDR as read in Readbase" clears it in one go.
• 📬 Jump to what is unread - "Open my unread newsletters in Readbase" takes you straight there.
• ⚡️ Build your own Shortcuts - Every action is in the Shortcuts app, with a ready-made tile for each of your subscriptions.
• 🔍 Find it in Spotlight - Search for a newsletter or subscription from your Home Screen and open it straight in Readbase.

Getting into Readbase should take seconds, whether it is your first time or your hundredth. This release makes that easier, and tidies up a few things along the way.

• 🐛 A few bugs squashed - Under-the-hood fixes to keep things running smoothly.

Thanks for reading with us.

Summaries should tell you what a newsletter is actually worth reading for, and the app around them should stay invisible. This release works on both.

• 🧠 Summaries with more takeaways - Rewritten prompts pull out the concrete points, numbers and names an issue is built on, instead of restating what it is about.
• ⏱️ Less to read before you decide - Previews lead with the substance, so a glance is enough to tell a must-read from a skip.
• 📱 A smoother iOS app - Cleaner reading and inbox screens, steadier scrolling, and clearer states while things load.

Your newsletters arrive in whatever language their writers use. Your summaries no longer have to.

• 🌍 Six languages to choose from - English, Spanish, Catalan, French, Italian or German. Readbase writes every summary and preview in the one you pick, whatever language the newsletter itself arrived in.
• ⚙️ Set it once - The choice lives in Settings, next to your inbox filter, and follows you between the app and the web.
• 📬 Starts with your next one - New newsletters arrive summarised in your language. The ones already in your inbox keep the language they were written in.

English stays the default, so nothing changes unless you want it to.

This release is all about getting you reading sooner and keeping your inbox in sync, even on a shaky connection.

• 🚀 A quicker start - Onboarding is more focused, so you can pick what you care about and get to your first newsletter in less time.
• 🔄 Always up to date - Readbase now refreshes automatically when you open the app, and shows you what's still waiting to sync.
• 📶 Offline reading, fixed - Unread newsletters download reliably again, so they're there when you're off the grid.
• 🔒 Fewer surprise sign-outs - A poor connection no longer ends your session, plus stability improvements throughout.

This release makes Readbase faster to start and easier to keep reading, wherever you are.

• 📶 Offline mode, improved - New newsletters are now auto-downloaded on iOS and sync is smoother, so your inbox is always ready when you're on a flight or off the grid.
• 🧭 Discover newsletters - Signing up for the first time? Browse a curated selection of great newsletters and subscribe right from onboarding.
• ✨ AI summary improvements - Summaries are sharper and more useful, giving you back even more reading time.

Readbase now reaches across iOS - search from anywhere and ask Siri.

• 🔦 Spotlight search - Your newsletters are indexed and searchable straight from system search. Tap a result to deep-link right into the newsletter. Indexing happens on unfiltered inbox loads and clears when you log out.
• 🗣️ Siri & Shortcuts - New Open Inbox, Open Subscriptions, and Show Reader Stats intents, with Siri phrases built in so you can jump to any of them by voice.
• 🔎 Native search on Subscriptions - Find subscriptions instantly with the built-in search bar, complete with a clean no-results state.

Your newsletters now live on the web too. Read on your laptop, pick up on your phone - everything stays in sync.

• 🌐 Web app - The full Readbase reading experience, right in your browser. No download required.
• 🚀 New onboarding - A friendlier first-run flow that gets you to your first newsletter faster.
• ⚡ iOS App Shortcuts - Trigger Readbase actions straight from your home screen.

• ✨ Liquid Glass design - a fresh, refined look across the whole app.
• 📬 Daily Recap moves into your newsletter inbox - no separate section, everything in one place.
• 🤖 Smarter AI recaps - each newsletter now gets its own AI summary, not just your morning digest.
• 🔴 The unread badge stays accurate offline, and your inbox refreshes reliably every time you return.
