Guide - updated
Substack sends every post by email, so you can read it anywhere that receives email. All your Substack subscriptions belong to one Substack account, so changing that account's email address moves every one of them in a single step, paid ones included. Point it at a Readbase address and your Substack posts arrive next to the newsletters you get from everywhere else, each with an AI summary, while Substack's Notes alerts and recommendation emails are left out.

Left out
Every post in one inbox, summarised. The Substack noise stays out.
The Substack app is good at Substack. It is also built to keep you in Substack: Notes, recommendations and writers you do not follow sit next to the posts you subscribed for.
And it only shows Substack. If you also read newsletters on Beehiiv, Ghost, Kit or a publisher's own site, those stay in your email, and you end up checking two places to read one kind of thing.
Substack keeps one account per email address, and your subscriptions hang off that account. Change the email on it and every subscription follows, free and paid.
Reading by email changes where the posts arrive, not what you are subscribed to.
Every post arrives in full, paid posts included. The comment link in each email still opens the post on Substack, so you can join the discussion whenever you want to.
Notes, Chat and recommendations live in the Substack app and on substack.com, and they are still there when you want them. Readbase leaves out the emails Substack sends about them, such as new Notes alerts, recommendations and the Weekly Stack, so your inbox only has the posts.
Our pick
One inbox for Substack and every other newsletter, at a private @readbase.io address. Every post arrives with an AI summary, so you know what it says before you open it, on the free plan. Bookmarks, offline reading on iPhone and 1-click unsubscribe, in the app and on the web.

Yes. Substack sends every post by email, so any email address or newsletter app can receive them. Changing your Substack account's email to a Readbase address moves all your subscriptions at once, and each post arrives with an AI summary.
Yes. Paid subscriptions belong to your Substack account, not to an email address, so they carry on after you change the address, and paid posts keep arriving in full.
Not by changing the account email, which moves all of them. To move one, unsubscribe from it and subscribe again with your Readbase address. That creates a second Substack account for the new address, so do not do it with a paid subscription, or you will keep paying from the old account.
With your Readbase address. Substack's sign-in emails arrive in Readbase like any other email, so you open the link there.
A private address for your newsletters and a summary on every one, on the free plan.
